Jesse Thomas Schuyler FITZGERALD was born 8 Dec 1835 in Maury County, Tennessee, the son of James Garrett FITZGERALD and Margaret THURMOND. He died 27 March 1910 at Frost, Navarro County, Texas.

In 1859 he moved to Sarcoxie, Jasper County, Missouri with Abraham FIELDS and Louisa Virginia THURMOND-FIELDS, his aunt on his mother's side.

He continued with the Fields family until he enlisted in the Confederate Army on 21 July 1862 at Camp Cedar with Company A of Hunter's Battalion of the 11th Missouri Infantry (other researchers have 1861 which is incorrect). They had 3 children: Sarah Frances FITZGERALD, she married Hugh PALMER (and then a Mr. Weil?); William Wesley FITZGERALD; Alice Isabell FITZGERALD, she married Henry Columbus BLACKMAN..

On 11 Aug 1874, J T S FITZGERALD married (2) Mary E FREDERICK-SHEPPARD. They had ten children: Thomas J, Albert Oscar, Nancy Elizabeth, Mary Lila, Lee, Jesse Dee, Beulah (Bula), LC, Otis, Rose.
